Welcome to our list of Graduates from the Broadcast & Media Communications Department.

We think you'll recognize a number of the people on these lists.

A word about our Students

Are we proud of' them?  You Bet!  Our students are "pumped".  They're one of the most energetic, dedicated and enthusiastic groups of students you'll find anywhere. They're extremely active, engaged in a host of learning activities focused on their training.

You'll find Broadcast Journalism and Television students at the scenes of many major news stories, covering those events in the same way as the professionals in industry (many of whom are grads and were doing the same thing when they were students!)

Radio students are interviewing people, working on production projects, operating the campus radio station, and working on their courses day and night.

Television students often put in all-night editing sessions as they're working on class or team projects.

The Broadcast Centre hums day and night, and often all night long. The radio station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week (and is heard across the Lower Mainland at 104.5 on Cable FM) so there is always someone in the building.

Visitors to the Broadcast Centre often comment on the positive attitudes and "joie de vivre" displayed by our students. We're pleased to work in such a positive environment, and work very hard indeed to ensure our students feel that the Broadcast Centre is home, a place they're welcome throughout their careers.

A word about our Grads

... and then comes graduation day!  Graduates of our programs, as well as folks who left before graduation, but who got their start with us anyway, are working in Vancouver, throughout British Columbia, across Canada and around the world. We have people in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Australia and likely in places we've never heard of!  We have people working for national and international networks. We have people managing stations, owning productions houses, holding positions as major on-air talent in a variety of markets.

Where are they now?

We continue to track our grads! We maintain a tracking system which helps us follow the thousands of people who have attended our training programs since our doors opened in 1964. Recently, we launched yet another attempt to update our lists and response has been terrific, much of it coming from e-mail. Our information on where our grads are now has been updated immensely as a result. If you're a grad, or if you know someone in your operation that hasn't checked in for a while, let us know what you're up to--and if you can provide info on your classmates, so much the better!   Please include your graduating year and your program.  We also act as a "clearing house" for grad information - if you'd like to know where someone is now, we will contact them if we have their information, and put them in contact with you if they are agreeable.  Email us at: broadcast@bcit.ca or click HERE  to keep us up to date.

If you do not have access to E-Mail, contact us here!
