We welcome your interest in using BCIT Facilities as a location.

 BCIT, Canada's premier polytechnic institute, has education facilities in five locations in BC's Lower Mainland:
bullet Burnaby Campus - from new media to construction trades, a variety of labs and shops with an abundance of meeting and exhibition space, and recreation facilities
bullet Downtown Campus - complete education & event facilities in the heart of Vancouver's business district
bullet BCIT Marine Campus on Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver - serving the marine industry, located on the scenic North Shore
bullet Aerospace Technology Campus at Vancouver International Airport in Richmond - existing hangar and classrooms, with an exciting new facility scheduled to open in 2007/2008

 This is an easy guide containing everything you need to know in order to shoot at the BCIT Burnaby Campus.

What do you need to do in order to shoot at BCIT Burnaby Campus?

1. Contact Trudy Handel in the Broadcast Communications & Media Department at BCIT.

2. Make arrangements with Trudy to visit BCIT Burnaby Campus and view/photograph the areas that you are interested in.

3. If the director is interested in shooting at BCIT Burnaby Campus, download our Filming Application for BCIT Burnaby Campus (below) and submit it to Trudy for consideration.  She will assist you in finalizing dates, time, payment, etc.

4. Download our Contractor Safety Program Agreement PDF.  This must be signed off by the Head of Security at BCIT, and by the Producer & Location Manager.  BCIT must ensure that any filming on BCIT property does not impede education, or provide a safety hazard to staff, students or visitors.

5. Make application for parking requirements through the Head of Security, Glen Magel, Building SW1 Rm 1006, Ph. 604 451-6875, glen_magel@bcit.ca

6. Be aware that any additional security, any special staffing required by BCIT, and all parking charges are in addition to the location fees charged by the BCIT campus.

7. Our Filming Application for BCIT Burnaby Campus must be signed by BCIT personnel as well as your Producer and Location manager. Our fax number is 604 432-8871.

8. BCIT requires prior knowledge of material that is being shot on BCIT property.  Specifically, scenes involving sex, nudity and explicit violence are discouraged.

9. BCIT Burnaby campus has classes running all year long, particularly on the north side of the campus.  However, the south side of the campus is more available during the months of June, July and August.
